Sunnybrae house is ideally situated for a touring holiday, with many

places of interest and famous beauty spots in easy distance of the town of Selkirk.

Selkirk itself is an Ancient Royal Burgh and has strong links with Sir Walter Scott -

Sir Walter Scott;s Courtroom is in the town's market place and his home, Abbotsford,

is just two miles away.

 

An annual festival in the town is the Selkirk Common Riding which takes place every June

and celebrates the "Riding of the Marches," in which scores of local horse riders

ceremoniously make their way around the towns boundaries - traditionally completed

to ensure that all is safe and in order.

you will be able to trace your ancestors through Borders archive material.

all approximately within an hour;s journey of Selkirk, and are all well worth a visit, but there

is also plenty to do within the town itself.

contains an art Gallery as well as historical Displays;

Selkirk Hill boasts a superb golf course as well as pleasant walkways with spectacular views and there are many Woollen and Tweed Mills within Selkirk and neighbouring towns which are

well worth a visit as many have there own mill shops.
